What is the Incentivized Testnet (ITN)?

The Incentivized Testnet is a testnet, with real incentives, where Cardano community members can try out the staking mechanisms coming up with the Shelley mainnet release. Users can use tADA, testnet ADA, to experiment with staking, and stakepools. The idea being to have real behaviours, and not completely abnormal behaviours like it's usually the case on testnets. You can find more information about the Shelley Incentivized Testnet here.

It's important to note that the Shelley Incentivized Testnet, has no link with the Haskell Node Testnet. Stakepool nodes are based on Rust, while Haskell nodes are, obviously based on Haskell. If you currently want to create a stakepool, creating a Haskell node will have no benefit for you. And if you want to create a Haskell node, creating a stakepool will have no benefit for you.

If you would like to setup a stakepool on the incentivized testnet, you can follow our guide here 👇
